The Glory is Nearer Than You Think
God spoke to me from the following scripture on Saturday morning, 6th September, 2003. Matthew 3:2-3 “Turn from your sins and turn to God, because the Kingdom of Heaven is near”. Isaiah had spoken of John when he said, “He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, Prepare a pathway for the Lord’s coming! Make a straight road for Him.”
The first thing the Lord emphasized was, “get ready – get prepared – for the Kingdom of Heaven is nearer than you think!” The prayers of many decades and generations are about to be answered.
The next thing He said was, “I am preparing and am ready to raise up and release a generation who are RADICAL – CONTROVERSIAL and POWERFUL.
It seems that you can’t be one without the other. And you can’t make yourself these things, only God can do it within you. You can pretend to be one or the other but only God can truly make you all three. The illustration I was given was that John the Baptist and Jesus were both Radical – Controversial and Powerful, and neither tried to be, they just were by the anointing and will of God on holy, purified, obedient, sacrificial lives. There was, and will be, a great cost to be used of God in such ways.
The final point was that the traditional, institutionalised, legalistic church that resists and refuses change will not only not accept you or such people, but will actually oppose and attempt to destroy you. Those who once embraced and accepted you will reject you.
The Kingdom of God is about to break in upon the kingdom of man. It will be marked by Radical, Controversial and Powerful people in the Holy Spirit. It will be marked by holiness, fear of the Lord and judgements as well as blessing and powerful miracles, signs, wonders and salvations.
